Resurfacing

Impulse Lapidary offers a resurfacing service for nearly all lap types. Fee schedule as follows:

Rate

$15/batch

Base setup fee

Independent of number of laps, includes USPS ground advantage return shipping.
$25/ea

Just a Haircut

Base rate for skimming one side of a metal lap to repair a gouged surface or allow a fresh grit size to be embedded.
$40/ea

Full Rework

Both sides of a metal lap turned flat and parallel with in process inspection to fully correct warped or out flat laps. 

Inspected for <=0.001" total indicated runout across the whole surface and <=0.0005" runout (flutter) 1" in from the edge of the lap.
$30/ea

Impulse Lap Rework

Re-grind diamond layer and turn backing on any impulse lap back to a factory finish with a flat and a true working surface.

Setup fee is waived for this service.
$50/ea

Sintered Lap Rework

Re-grind diamond layer and turn backing on any metal bond or resin bond sintered lap back to a factory or better finish with a flat and a true working surface.
2.5% declared value*

Protected Return Shipping

By default buyer assumes risk in shipping. I am happy to upgrade to priority mail and insure the packages against shipping damage at cost.
